There's a line in Dovion that seeks neither the duel, nor the siege, nor the plunder — and yet everyone is thrilled to see it show up. The Profondeurs line is the support soul of the ship tree: it heals, it calls in whales, it fishes better than anyone, and it ends in the Léviathan des Abysses (Abyssal Leviathan), one of the most evocative names in the game. Dive into the branch that's the calmest of the archipelago — on the surface, anyway.
Baleinier, Jonque au trésor, Léviathan des Abysses
The path runs through the Baleinier (Whaler) at level 15, the Jonque au trésor (Treasure Junk) at level 30, and the Léviathan des Abysses (Abyssal Leviathan) at level 45. Three steam-powered hulls — the line belongs to the industrial family of the tree, the one we explore in our tour of Dovion's steam ships — with an identity that grows stronger at every tier: the sea feeds those who respect it.
Among Dovion's 9 lines, this is the one that most redefines what "winning" means: fewer kills, more consistency.
The Deep Gong: healing and calling
The E-key active is the Gong des profondeurs (Deep Gong), and it does two things at once:
- it heals everything around you — you and anyone sailing at your side;
- it calls in whales.
An area heal in a game where almost everyone plays selfishly is a small revolution. Solo, the Gong gives you rare endurance: you tank, you sound the gong, you're back. In a group — with friends in a private room, or in the middle of a fight against a boss — you become the ship everyone wants to stay close to. Few lines spark this much spontaneous cooperation among total strangers.
As for the whales, they add an almost mystical dimension to the Gong: you strike the bronze, and the giants of the sea answer.
Fishing: the economy of the deep
The line's other pillar is massive fishing. Where other branches get rich by cannon or by pickaxe, Profondeurs thrives on fish schools. Combined with a solid cargo hold, this vocation makes the line a quiet but ruthlessly consistent economic machine.
The pace of play that follows is unique: fishing runs, regular sales, a level-up curve with no fireworks but no stalls either. If the constant frenzy of combat wears you out, this cruising rhythm is a real pleasure.
Falsely peaceful
Don't be fooled: "support" doesn't mean "prey." A Léviathan des Abysses that sounds its Gong at the right moment is brutally hard to finish off — every assault that doesn't sink it in one shot gives it time to patch itself back up. Impatient attackers break their teeth on it, literally.
Its real dangers lie elsewhere: massive, sudden damage that doesn't leave time for healing to act — the full Torpedo Fan of the Torpilles line, a full-speed Charge — and patient opponents who space out their attacks to drain your Gongs.
Who does the Gong toll for?
Choose Profondeurs if you'd rather last than dominate, if playing WITH others motivates you more than playing AGAINST them, and if the idea of crossing the archipelago escorted by whales already makes you smile. It's the line for deep-sea sailors — the ones still around after all the show-offs have sunk.
