Leveling Up Fast: The Optimal Route From Level 1 to 30
There are two ways to experience the start of a Dovion match: suffer through thirty laborious minutes in the Chaloupe, or follow a progression route planned in advance. This guide lays out the second option — the most direct path from level 1 to level 30, milestone by milestone, to level up fast without ending up at the bottom of the sea.
Levels 1 to 5: the studious Chaloupe
Your starting Chaloupe isn't built for glory; it's built for learning. Your first-five-levels program:
- Mine rocks for gold and XP, fish whenever the chance comes up, and above all sell your cargo early and often at selling points — in a Chaloupe, every lost hold is a proportionally huge disaster.
- Avoid anything that moves and outclasses you: established players, mermaid groups, loud events. Your only mission is reaching level 5.
- Spend your stat points every level, from the very start. Points left idle earn you nothing.
At level 5, your first choice arrives: Goélette (fast), Brigantin (sturdy), or Chalutier (big hold). It shapes your match more than it locks you in — but choose deliberately, with our comparison Goélette, Brigantin, or Chalutier?
Levels 5 to 15: find your cruising rhythm
This stretch is all about efficient grinding. Two levers to speed it up:
- Widen your menu. Rocks and fishing are now joined by reasonable prey: skiffs and lone pirates pay more than a rock, for a manageable risk if you pick your targets well.
- Tighten your loop. Find a profitable triangle — a mining zone, a fishing zone, a selling point close to each other — and exploit it. The coordinate grid (A1-K11) helps you remember your good spots.
Level 15 is THE appointment of your match: this is where you pick your lineage, one of nine, with its active ability on the E key. This choice defines your style for the rest of the run — take ten seconds to think it over, not one more, and commit.
Levels 15 to 30: the window for boldness
Armed with your lineage, you enter the most profitable phase of the game: strong enough to take risks, not yet big enough to interest the bosses. This is the time to be bold:
- Answer the events. Merchant caravans and their escorts, bounties flagged by the golden minimap marker: these spikes of gain are made for this stretch of the match.
- Learn your active ability. The cooldown is visible: every missed use is data, every perfect use is one more reflex.
- Approach the center from the edges. The central lagoon is still dangerous, but its fringes already hold great resources.
The accelerators that change everything
Three shortcuts worth knowing to skip ahead:
- A mermaid sold at the altar. The center's black market pays a captured mermaid in a huge amount of XP — the biggest progression jump in the game. Risky operation, spectacular payoff: instructions in the lagoon black market.
- The mystery barrel. A random bonus always worth grabbing on your way — sometimes regeneration, sometimes even better.
- Referrals. Outside of the match, the "Challenge a Friend" link earns +250 banked XP for each of you once your referral has played ten minutes. Free XP for sharing a good game.
And at level 30? Welcome to the big leagues
Level 30 grants your third evolution — and a warning: from that point on, the center's bosses consider you a priority target. Your leveling route ends here; your survival route begins.
