The Golden Dutchman: The Secret Ship Everyone's Talking About
Open Dovion's ship gallery and count: 31 hulls, neatly split across 9 lineages, from level 1 to level 45. Everything's tidy, everything's documented. And then there's him. A silhouette apart, belonging to no lineage, unlocked by no evolution milestone: the Hollandais Doré ("Golden Dutchman"), the game's secret hull. This article won't tell you how to get it — that's on purpose. But we're going to talk about it anyway, because it deserves it.
A hull outside the tree
Dovion's ship tree follows an unshakable logic: you start in the Chaloupe, pick your path at level 5, your lineage at level 15, and climb to your final hull at 45. Every ship has its place, its branch, its page in the guide to the 9 lineages.
The Hollandais Doré ignores this whole system. It's outside the tree: no evolution choice leads to it, no milestone unlocks it. And yet it genuinely exists — the game confirms as much, displaying it in the gallery, in plain sight, like a trophy behind glass. You can look at it. You cannot choose it.
What we actually know
Let's be honest about the state of public knowledge:
- It exists. Not a rumor, not a hoax: the game's gallery shows it.
- It's golden. The name isn't a metaphor.
- It's secret. How to obtain it is explained nowhere — not in the game, not here, not anywhere else.
- It evokes a legend. The Flying Dutchman is the most famous ghost ship of maritime folklore; Dovion offers its own version, plated in gold.
And that's about it. Everything else belongs to the realm of speculation — and speculation, frankly, is half the fun.
The questions everyone's asking
Do you need to pull off something extraordinary? Be in the right place at the right time? Survive what nobody survives? Is the secret hidden in the center's fog, at the bottom of a forgotten biome, or right under your nose the whole time? Theories bloom among players, and we're not about to confirm or deny a single one.
What we can say without giving anything away: players who search always end up exploring the game more deeply than everyone else. They learn the map, the creatures, the events, the corners. Search for the Hollandais Doré, and you'll become — at minimum — a much better captain. That might be the real trap of the golden ship.
Why we won't say anything
Because a secret revealed is no longer a secret: it's a checklist item. The games that last are the ones that keep a bit of shadow, a legend players tell each other — like the silhouette someone swears they glimpsed one foggy evening. Dovion chose to keep this mystery alive, and this blog will respect that choice. If you ever come across a guide claiming to explain it all, be wary: ghost hunters sell plenty of empty treasure maps.
In the meantime, train your eye: knowing how to identify an enemy by its silhouette will serve you well the day something golden crosses the horizon. And who knows what the other exceptional hulls are hiding, like the Ghost Ship and its Voiles Mortes...
It's up to you to search
The Hollandais Doré sits somewhere between the gallery and the legend, and nobody's going to hand it to you on a plate. Play Dovion for free — look at the gallery, take to the sea, keep your eyes open. And if you find it... keep the secret, captain.
